As promised I'll be posting new listings here. And, don't forget, if you see something you like but want it "tweaked" just a little bit (you know, a special order), please don't hestitate to ask. I love a creating challenge!

"Lilies of the Field" a tote

Art Fire
$15

A sweet canvas tote embellished with one of my very own photos. Across the top is printed a verse from Matthew 25 about the lilies of the field. Embellishing the upper edges you'll find a cheery ribbon and co-ordinating ric rac. Grouped at each corner are vintage buttons and lovely paper flowers adorn the center. Please spot clean only!

"Cherish" a birthday memory box
Art Fire
$11.00
(other variations also found at "Lola Rue" downtown Bloomington)

I love to say this is perfect for those who want a way to easily save memories from a special day without having to worry about scrapbooking. The outside of this vintage cigar box is covered with a cheery red heavy duty scrapbook paper, trimmed in vintage ribbon and centered around a gorgeous vintage postcard from early 1900s. Inside when you open the lid you'll see a sweet birthday fairy collaged on the inner lid and the base is lined with felt and sprinkeld with fairy dust. What a sweet way to savor those birthday pictures, cards, candles, flower petals or other small trinkets

"All That Leads a Heart to Knowing"

Art Fire
$ 30.00
Quantity: 1

A vintage bottle is carefully adorned with a mix of fibers, some simple and some ornate. The closer we get to the heart the simpler things become. All fibers are affixed with layers of encaustic wax medium. Added on are vintage scraps reflecting upon what leads a heart to knowing... further embellished with a brass word tag reading "inspire" topped off with some simple, yet elegant, beadwork.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:

When I opened up the box of bottles I won at auction I discovered this little bottle with a heart already affixed. No matter what I tried I could not remove the heart. While looking and thinking I realized this is much like faith... our heart must be rooted and grounded. However, even the most stalwart human heart is not forever fixed, only one heart is that strong. That heart lay within humble "wrappings" but the heart itself was the heart most worth knowing.

"King of Kings"
Art Fire
$ 30.00
Quantity: 1

A lovely vintage bottle layered with cloth and encaustic wax medium. Embellishments include scraps from a vintage book of poetry, crushed silk ribbon, a vintage crown brooch, word tag, and lovely glass bead.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:

Upon bringing home a lot of jewerly purchased at auction I found the crown brooch used on this piece. I knew something special had to be created and set it aside waiting for inspiration. After purchasing cloth for another project I dumped it all in a pile and saw the possibilty of a royal setting... the only king I know deserving of such is the King of Heaven.

Hope you enjoy these latest listings!

Put Your Tears in My Bottle ~ Assemblage

"Put Your Tears in My Bottle"
ArtFire

Product Description:
$ 65.00
Quantity: 1

A vintage wooden cigar box holds this assemblage where each piece reflects on a unique portion of life: childhood, plenty, want, sorrow, being shelted under the wings of God and so forth. Reflecting on Psalm 56:8 will help the viewer to more fully understand. The piece is monochromatic and rather elegant in it's simplicity. Measuring 9 inches across and 14.5 inches from the peak of the ribbon hanger to the tip of the crystal dangle. It is about 1.25 inches deep.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
You can visit my blog at http://trustjoyfully.blogspot.com for the whole story. In brief, this piece is inspired by Psalm 56:8 where God says he saves our tears in His bottle and each tear is written in His book. This piece talks about the different times in our life and God is in charge of each aspect. If he saves our tears then we are not alone and our tears have a purpose.

Buttons and Beads

"Beautiful Buttons"

The clasp has a lovely pearl bead dangle allowing you to clasp it at varying lengths. Looks great against a simple t-shirt, lovely sweater or a nice v-neck shirt.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
I was given a large stash of vintage buttons. Truth be told some of them date from the 1850's! I love the look of these buttons but wanted to add a flash of color so dug through the beads and found these lovely scarlet lampwork beads. All in all a lovely piece!

Day 2

And still no pictures. But, hang in there. There's a very good reason for this.

When I went last to "Lola Rue" and talked to Lisa she suggested I try to use better photos for my online stores. Aha... yes, it does help if one may actually show the piece in all it's clear beauty... no fuzziness allowed, no accidental dates in the photos, price tags removed, artfully displayed, oh... work.

So, I have been busily re-shooting EVERY SINGLE PIECE. YEP! And my camera batteries wore out. So, now they're recharging and I am too by reading some of my favorite blogs.

And now what I'll be doing is heading over to JoAnnA's blog to finally get the answers figured out to her contest so I can enter the giveaway before it's over and done with. Because if you want some seriously gorgeous art you should check out her site.

ALSO... April is hosting a tag sale at her home... vintage goodies, original art, etc. And I've been invited to have a little bitty table of my own... I'm thinking necklaces.... Check it out.

AND... Also on March 27 at Church of the Good Shepherd we will be hosting a Christian Childbirth Expo... I get to speak a little and maybe host a booth. Come join us. It will be very exciting!

Altered Bottles... Fairy Tales in Glass

Greetings Dear Readers,

About a year ago I discovered JoAnnA's blog site and was inspired by her incredible art. The first things I saw were her altered bottles. After a bit of a push by Mama Magpie I wrote to JoAnnA and asked if I could use some of her ideas as I began to create my own bottles. I didn't want to steal ideas, but I was so inspired. Later after done with the first batch I sent her photos and asked for her comments. I loved what she said about this batch. She called them, "Fairy Tales in Glass." Appropriately that's what I wanted to share, the fairy tale side of love... that first flame, the thoughts in your hearts as you are apart, the hope. And, while I know that love is not always so fairytale-like, and in actual fact is hard work and contains elements of both joy and sorrow I wanted to capture these moments on glass.

Welcome...

Yes, I have started another blog. This blog will be dedicated to my "art"... or as others like to say, my crafty messes that I love to create. While I have both an Etsy and an ArtFire shop I would like to have everything shown all in one place. I will include suggested prices as well.

I'd like to thank Kara of "Sunshine and Salsa" for the idea for an art blog. And, by the by, if you are looking for the cutest ever knitted items please check her out. We are talking seriously cute items!

Okay... now I just have to upload photos and prices and add links. I'm excited about this and hope others will be also!
Blessings,
Kim
